SCROLL DOWN

Thank you for visiting this website that we have dedicated to the memory of our dad. We truly have appreciated all of your support and we wouldn’t be here without it.

The Robert J. Worpenberg Memorial Golf Outing was created for a number of reasons. First, to remember him. Our dad loved golf and would spend countless hours making sure we loved it too :) Second, to spread awareness of the awful, devastating disease that took him from us so soon. And third, to help raise money for an underfunded and underresearched cancer that affects the lives of so many.

We remember our dad as a man who made everyone laugh, who loved the outdoors, and who created lasting memories for us out of the otherwise mundane. Please join us in remembering how Bob is Great.

Lung cancer is the second most common cancer in both men and women, but what most people don't realize is that more people die of lung cancer than colon, breast, and prostate cancers combined.  About 1 out of every 4 cancer deaths are from lung cancer.

In 2022, the American Cancer Society estimates over 236,000 people will be diagnosed with lung cancer and 130,000 people will die from lung cancer.  The 5-year survival rate for people with regional non-small cell lung cancer is 37%.  However, the 5-year survival rate for people with distant non-small cell lung cancer is only about 8%.

The Worpenberg Foundation, Inc. is a Cincinnati-based 501(c)(3) and its sole purpose is doing our part to help provide hope to those in need in the future. We have teamed up with the Lung Cancer Foundation of America to help raise awareness and to raise money for research.  By just golfing, you have helped raise over $20,000 for lung cancer research. Every dollar we raise goes to the Lung Cancer Foundation of America.

We thank you all for your continued support!
